Guntur: Municipal Commissioner Srikesh B Lathkar directed the engineering department officials to take steps to resolve drinking water problem in the backdrop of decision to cut water supply from January 23 to 25.
Addressing a meeting with the officials at the GMC office here on Tuesday, he said that they would stop water supply as they have to connect the existing drinking water pipelines with new pipelines and for attending repairs to damaged pipes.
He instructed the officials to complete the drinking water pipelines repair works by the evening of Thursday to revive water supply from the Friday morning.
He told them to supply drinking water with the tankers in the problematic villages and send the bills for the works completed at the earliest to payments within the stipulated time.
