Nellore: Mayor Sk Abdul Aziz said that they would transform the city into a safe zone for residents as the civic body has started measures to make it mosquito-free by utilising latest equipment for sanitation. The Mayor distributed dust bins to the residents of Maclin’s road in 42nd division in the city on Wednesday.

Speaking to the media, Abdul Aziz said that they have been distributing dust bins along with recyclable plastic bags sufficient for one year. He explained that the civic body also placed huge dumpers at the end of each street for dumping waste.

Plastic bags which are being distributed have been made of recyclable plastic below 50 microns. The situation in some divisions of the city had worsened due to recent protest of the municipal workers and ongoing underground drainage and water works.

“We have been utilising latest equipment and smart vehicles for cleaning garbage,” said Abdul Aziz. He stated they had prepared plans to clean the garbage on daily basis. Further, Mayor visited Sivaji Nagar and inspected the ongoing road and drain works.

He checked the quality in the works and said that they would sanction CC roads to all streets in Sivaji Nagar soon. TDP leaders M Penchala Naidu and others were present.
