Facelift to eidgahs mosques with 3.9 crore

Rajamahendravaram: Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council chairman MA Shariff has said that steps will be taken to develop all mosques and eidgahs in the state with all facilities. He set foundation for several works in the city on Wednesday. Shariff said an amount of Rs 3.9 crore was sanctioned to provide facilities to Eidgahs and mosques in the city.

He laid foundation stone to the proposed prayer hall coming up with an estimated cost of Rs 23 lakh at Nehru Nagar, Shadikhana with an estimated cost of Rs 90 lakh at Rehman Nagar, compound wall of burial ground at Hukumpeta with an estimated cost of Rs 10 lakh.

The government is very much particular to protect the properties of mosques in the state and directions were issued to respective officials in this regard. It is the duty of everyone to protect the sanctity of prayer halls, he added. MLC Adireddy Appa Rao, GUDA chairman Ganni Krishna, corporator M Sharmila Reddy, Sheik Subhan and others were present.
