‘Communication skills key to grab jobs’

Vijayawada: The Department of Computer Science, Andhra Loyola College organised the annual techno meeting ‘SCIENTIA –19’ here on Monday.
The chief guest of the event was Dr Sowmya Koneru, Associate Professor in Training and Placement department, NRI Institute of Technology.
Addressing the gathering, she emphasized much on communication skills along with technical skills. It is important that a student of computer science should be aware of latest technologies.
Presenting anything requires good communication skills. She repeatedly stressed on the point that communication skills always helps a student to grab good number of opportunities, prove themselves and be successful in all future endeavors.
She said mastering on one technology perfectly and having enough knowledge about other subjects will make a student more confident to combat with the industry.
Fr S Melchior, vice-principal, degree, ALC, asked the students to have knowledge about the current technologies and day-to-day news which makes them competent enough and ready for the industry.
Dr KBS Sastry, HoD, N Sireesha, L Nageswari Devi, K Aparna organised the events. Nearly 200 students from various colleges participated in the event.
The winners of the events were given prizes and certificate of participation.
