Vijayawada: National Mahila Party (NMP) will contest from all the 175 constituencies in the coming general elections and women will be given 50 per cent reservation, announced the party president T Rajeswari.
Addressing the media on Thursday, Rajeswari said that the party was formed for the welfare of the women in the state as injustice was done to women in society. She said that the party would contest all the 25 Lok Sabha seats and said that the members of the party would strive and give top priority to the women folk.
GS Katherine, party national advisor said that they had decided to form the NMP as no political party was coming forward to address the problems faced by the women folk across the country.
She said that the women in society were living with dissatisfaction and many women were keeping indoors facing various problems.
