Vijayawada: As part of Sri Sambhavanadh Bhagawan Temples 'Pratista Mahotsav' celebrations, the Jains offered prayers for 'Viswa Shanti' and took 'Aayambil' food to attain physical and mental peace on Sunday. The 'aayambil' food is prepared without salt, sugar, spice, ghee and vegetables.

About 3,000 members from Jain community including ladies and youth across the country gathered to perform special prayers at specially constructed 'Sambhavanagar' (Punnami Ghat).

They also conducted the 'Bhaktamvar' maha puja, mass prayers and bhajans in the name of Sri Sambhavanadh Bhagawaan on the occasion. Jain monks Sri Vijay Ajit Sekhar Sooriswarji and Sri Vijay Vimal Bodhi Sooriswarji blessed the devotees and asked them to follow the principles of Jainism - Ahimsa and peace.

Vijayawada Mayor Koneru Sridhar, Vijayawada West legislator Jaleel Khan and corporator Uttam Bhandari took part in the celebrations and greeted Jains.
