Honda BR-V (Bold Run-about Vehicle) is based on the Mobilio platform. In India, it will compete with the likes of Hyundai Creta, Maruti S-Cross, Renault Duster and Nissan Terrano when launched.

Sporting a host of features, the BR-V will receive projector headlamps, DRLs and diamond cut alloy wheels. Honda BR-V will also get a new front fascia while interiors will boast of a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate controls and AC vents at the rear. Third row seats are foldable adding to extra boot space while rear parking camera, electrically controlled wing mirrors and upholstery looks similar to that seen on the Honda City.

Honda BR-V measures 4,456mm in length, 1,735mm in width, 1,666mm in height and 2,660mm in wheelbase while it will have ground clearance of 201mm. To be powered by petrol and diesel engine options, the Honda BR-V will receive a 1.5 liter i-VTEC petrol engine offering 118 PS peak power at 6,600 rpm and 145 Nm torque at 4,600 rpm. A 1.5 liter i-DTEC diesel engine, similar to that seen powering the Honda Amaze and Jazz, will also power the Honda CR-V. This engine will offer 100 PS power at 3,600 rpm and 200 Nm torque at 1,750 rpm, mated to either a new six speed manual transmission.

Honda has ensured close to 90% localization on the Honda BR-V which will allow for competitive pricing and could be priced in the region of INR 8.3 lakhs to INR 12.5 lakhs. Besides launching the new Honda BR-V in India, exports to SAARC markets and to South African markets are also on the cards.
