Hero Splendor 110 iSmart
The new Splendor 110 iSmart is a step to prove that Hero is the undisputed king of the commuter motorcycle. Power on the new Hero Splendor iSmart comes from an 110cc air-cooled, single-cylinder, 4-stroke engine that is paired to a 4-speed gearbox. The bike is said to be 9 per cent more power and 12 per cent more torque than the outgoing iSmart and is also more fuel efficient. Other updates include an analog-digital instrument cluster, split grab rails, new fuel tank and tail lamps. The bike will roll out later this year with a marginally premium price tag over the existing model.
Hero Xtreme 200S
Hero, has actively worked on developing and expanding its Xtreme commuter range. And now, the brand has taken a sporty approach to for this long-standing model. The new Xtreme 200 S features a rear mono suspension and more importantly, ABS. Powering this bigger iteration of the Xtreme is an air cooled, single cylinder, 200cc engine which makes 18.6bhp at 8500rpm and 17.2Nm at 6000rpm. The engine is mated to a five-speed gear box and is built around a diamond type chassis design.
BMW G 310 R
Born in Germany at BMW Motorrad, and carefully brought up in India by TVS, the BMW G 310 R naked streetbike will reach new BMW showrooms by late 2016. The G 310 R will rival KTM’s ultra-sporty Duke streetbikes, the BMW positioned to fill the comfort vacuum left in the wake of the aggressive KTMs. You can experience the digital instruments equipped G 310 R at the Indian Auto Expo, to appreciate firsthand its clean styling, comfy ergonomics and high quality feel. The four-stroke, 313cc engine of the BMW G 310 R is unique, for reclining its liquid-cooled cylinder back, head rotated 180 degrees, exchanging positions of the inlet and exhaust ports. Gearbox mass pushes more forward, allowing the G 310 R shorter wheelbase, with a long swingarm, to promote better handling.
Indian Roadmaster
If you are done with the budget as well as premium bikes and want to tour without leaving your comfort zone, the Indian Roadmaster will be here later this year to your rescue offering exceptionally good looks, ample of performance and a luxurious ride to keep you comfortable. The Indian Roadmaster comes loaded with a tonne of features including keyless ignition, electronically adjustable windscreen, integrated audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, Pathfinder LED lights, leather seats with heater, remote locking and saddle bags. Quite a stellar package, the Roadmaster's footprint is equally intimidating measuring 2656mm in length, 1012mm in width and 1572mm in height.
Honda Africa Twin
Honda Motorcycles and Scooters India (HMSI) also unveiled the Honda Africa Twin performance adventure bike and announced that it will be assembled in India. The Africa Twin is a name revered among adventure motorcyclists around the world. In India, the bike will seek to create some of that magic and to grab a slice of the growing adventure touring segment. It will compete against the likes of the Triumph Tiger series.
Yamaha MT-09
Bollywood star John Abraham launched the Yamaha MT-09 at the Yamaha pavilion. The good-looking street fighter motorcycle comes at a price of 10.20 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and will be imported into the country as a completely built unit (CBU). The MT-09 is Yamaha's flagship model for the MT series in India and is powered by a newly-developed in-line 847cc, 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled, 4-stroke engine that develops 113bhp at 10,000rpm and 87.5Nm of torque at 8,500rpm. This unit is mated to 6-speed transmission. Yamaha claims that the bike will have a fuel efficiency figure of 19Km/l.
UM Renegade Commando
American automaker UM launched its Renegade series. Renegade Commando is a low-slung cruiser bike powered by a 279cc, single-cylinder, water-cooled engine that develops a maximum power output of 25bhp at 8500rpm and 21.8Nm of peak torque at 7000rpm mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Features such as wide handlebars and hydraulic telescopic suspension at front and spring at the rear make it an ideal cruiser for day-to-day riding.
