Made in India by Maruti, Suzuki Baleno heads to 2016 Geneva Motor Show
Maruti Suzuki Baleno was launched in India last year.Showcased as iK-2 concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, the production variant of Suzuki Baleno hatchback made global debut in India last year, where it was subsequently launched. The car will now make its European motor show premiere at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show next week.

Suzuki Baleno is designed on Liquid Flow design language. It is a larger hatchback than the Swift, and will compete with the likes of Honda Jazz and Hyundai i20 once launched in Europe later this year.

Engine options on offer with the Suzuki Baleno include their new 3-cyl 1.0 liter BoosterJet turbocharged engine which delivers 110 PS power and 170 Nm peak torque. Apart from this, there will also be the option of 1.2-liter petrol engine with SHVS hybrid tech on offer in Europe. Transmission options include 5 speed MT as well as an automatic gearbox.
Exclusively made in India, Suzuki Baleno entered the history books earlier this month when it became the first car to be exported to the home country of its parent company. Made in India Maruti Baleno has successfully arrived in Japan ahead of its launch.

In India, Maruti Suzuki Baleno has managed to post impressive sales which average at about 10,000 units a month. Here we do not have the BoosterJet or the SHVS options on offer, but it is believed that they will be launched at a later date.
