The car will lock horns with the likes of Hyundai Santa Fe and Renault Alaskan. The Skoda VisonS Concept which previews a new flagship SUV is being showcased at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. The concept is not very far from the production model which is expected to go by the name Kodiak.

The VisonS’ design is inspired by the Czech Cubism and Bohemian Crystal art. The 6-seat SUV sports a quintessential Skoda grille with vertical chrome slats. The narrow LED headlamps are supplemented by quadrilateral auxiliary units. A bumper with a wide air intake round off the front end design.

Flared wheel arches, 3-D alloy wheels, a strong shoulder line and a sleek greenhouse define the VisonS in profile. The rear fascia is composed of a rectangular windshield, sophisticated LED taillight clusters, contoured tailgate, a thin reflector strip and a massive diffuser with twin elliptical exhaust tips.

Based on VW Group’s MQB front-wheel-drive platform, the concept SUV measures 4.7 m in length, 1.91 m in width, 1.68 m in height and has a wheelbase of 2.79 m. The car adopts a 2+2+2 seating configuration with individual bucket seats in the middle row. We expect the production model to also offer 7-seat configuration (2+3+2).

The Skoda VisonS is powered by a hybrid powertrain which is claimed to have the ability to run on pure electric mode for 50 km. The combined power output stands at 225 PS which is good for a 0-100 kmph acceleration time of 7.4 seconds and a top speed of 200 kmph. The combined range stands at an impressive 1,000 km.
