JLR has started testing a new Range Rover Sport variant, expected to be the high-performance SVR model for the next model year. The prototype features minor changes on its exterior, including larger intake vents on the front bumper.
This could mean the use of a more potent engine. As per speculation, the new engine is expected to be the 567bhp supercharged V8 from the F-Type SVR, which would give the new SUV an extra 25bhp over its previous iteration.
This boost in power is likely to make the Range Rover Sport SVR achieve a 0-100kph sprint time of around 4.5 seconds, similar to that of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo an SUV that has less power but is also about 70kg lighter.
