The new petrol engined variant is good for 330 PS and 480 Nm of torque.The Mercedes S400, a new petrol variant of the flagship S Class sedan, has been launched in India at INR 1.31 crore (ex-showroom). The new variant targets customers who are looking for an uber-luxury saloon with fine balance of power and economy. It is the 4th variant of the car to be available in India after the S500, S350 d and S600 Guard armoured vehicle.

Slotted below the V8 engined S500 petrol and above the S350 d diesel variant, the S400 is powered by a new 3.0-litre V6 petrol engine which is rated at 330 PS and 480 Nm of torque. A 7 G-Tronic automatic transmission sends power to the rear wheels. This variant is available in Hybrid avatar in most markets but not in India.

On the outside, apart from the variant badging, the S400 is identical to rest of the S Class lineup. Same is the case with the interiors as well. The luxurious cabin is appointed in top quality elements such as Napa leather upholstery, and is equipped with features such as digital instrument console, COMAND infotainment system, ventilated seats and so on.

It also gets 1520 Watt Burmester 3D Surround sound system with 24 speakers, 7 colour ambient light with 5 dimming levels, 360 degree surround view camera, and energizing hot stone massage.

Mercedes-Benz S 400 India Launch
The Mercedes S400 strengthens the high-end luxury sedan’s Indian range. The car rivals the likes of Audi A8, BMW 7 Series and Jaguar XJ.

Mercedes-Benz India ended 2015 as the leading luxury car brand, thanks to the 15 new launches. The company is hoping to carry forward the momentum in 2016 and has promised 12 launches over the course of the year.
