Volkswagen India to Begin Recalling 1.9 Lakh Cars from July 2016 will begin to recall 1.9 lakh cars of their diesel variants from July 2016, as already announced by the German-based manufacturer’s Indian arm.

Though the manufacturers faced no charges for violating emission standards in India, as they are compliant with the current BS IV standards, this voluntarily recall by the company is meant to fix the emission software in their diesel-powered cars.

Beginning from July 2016, the recall will go on for 10 months, when Volkswagen India would begin contacting customers for the recall. It could be remembered that Volkswagen had to recall cars in the US, following the diesel-gate scandal, which led the Indian arm of Volkswagen to do a similar recall in India.

Besides Volkswagen, Skoda would recall 88,700 cars and Audi would recall 36,500 cars, during the same period.
