The updates appear to be purely cosmetic. The 2017 Maruti S-Cross facelift which was leaked online earlier this year has been spotted inside a company plant. The updated crossover with minor cosmetic updates appears to have entered production already.

The European version of the compact crossover world premiered in 2013 and it was tweaked a bit (both visually and mechanically) when it went on sale in India. The 2017 S-Cross ditches its understated chrome grill in favor of a bolder unit with multiple vertical slats. The crossover also gets slightly redesigned headlamps and a sportier bumper with new chrome embellished foglight enclosures. The dull and boring alloy wheel design has been phased out and in comes an interesting pattern. There are no other changes to the profile. The rear fascia is expected to receive tweaked combination lights and a reprofiled bumper.

The interior is expected to be retained without much changes but expect the color theme and quality levels could be enhanced. The equipment level could also see some revision. The 2017 Maruti S-Cross will continue to be powered by the 1.3- and 1.6-litre DDiS diesel engines. Given the recent petrol-friendly trend, the company could be introducing a petrol engine option as well. We expect the updated crossover to be ready for the festive season.
