The Mitsubishi XM concept which was teased a few days ago has made its online debut. The design study which previews a Honda BR-V rival is all set to be showcased at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (2016 GIIAS) next week.

The XM Concept carries forward the design philosophy which was introduced by the EX concept which premiered at last year’s Tokyo Motor Show.

The X-shaped motif on the front fascia which comprises grille, narrow LED headlamps and secondary air dam forms the base of the design. High-mounted LED foglight enclosures, squared off front wheel arches, sleek greenhouse underlined by a chrome strip are the other highlights.

Mitsubishi hasn’t revealed the interior yet but has confirmed that the XM Concept will feature seating for 7 with flexible arrangement. We expect the dashboard to have a futuristic design.

Mitsubishi hasn’t talked about the production prospects of the XM but if the company opts to go ahead, the platform and powertrain are likely to be derived from Renault-Nissan Alliance which is set to acquire 34% of Mitsubishi’s stake.

Under RNA’s umbrella, Mitsubishi would be aiming to put the recent mileage claim scandal behind and fill its portfolio with a variety of attractive crossovers.
