Tearful farewell to BE Chairman

Hyderabad: Several industrialists, politicians, senior officials and others paid their last respects to Dr Vijay Kumar Datla, Chairman and Managing Director, Biological E Limited, who passed away on Wednesday due to renal failure. He was undergoing treatment at a private hospital in the city for the past two months. He is survived by his wife and three daughters. His mortal remains were cremated at Amberpet crematorium on Thursday after a two-hour long funeral procession from house located at Durgabai Deshmukh Colony near Osmania University. His three daughters � Purnima, Indira and Mahima � had performed last rites as per Hindu customs. Krishna Ella, Managing Director, Bharat Biotech; his wife Suchitra Ella, past chairperson, CII AP and office-bearers of bulk drugs association are among those who participated in the funeral procession. Former Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, Dr J Ramachandra Reddy, husband of Industries Minister J Geeta Reddy and several others also paid homage to the departed industrialist. Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy paid his respects on Wednesday.
