The day one report card of Google-sponsored Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) 2014 is a roaring success. The festival saw a great response since the midnight of Wednesday. The third edition of the festival is hosting over 400 brands through e-commerce portals with big bang discounts and deals.

Hyderabad: The day one report card of Google-sponsored Great Online Shopping Festival (GOSF) 2014 is a roaring success. The festival saw a great response since the midnight of Wednesday. The third edition of the festival is hosting over 400 brands through e-commerce portals with big bang discounts and deals. This year, Google has a special section offering products at Rs 299 with free shipping and cash on delivery to attract first-time buyers, who comprised over 30% customers last year. Discounts may not be on the lower side this year and are visible only across fewer and select categories and brands.

The other exciting feature of this year’s sale is an exclusive ‘Launch Corner’, where new products including Google’s Chromecast, Nexus 6, as well as the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Pro were launched for the first-time. Among the prominent e-commerce websites participating in the festival include snapdeal.com, amazon.in, ebay.in, limeroad.com, shopclues.com and jabong.com. Flipkart quit the festival without mentioning any reason.

Apart from online traders even offline retailers like car manufacturers, restaurants, financial institutions and real estate companies are participating in this. As part of GOSF, Tata Housing is selling residential apartments at several of its projects across Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai and Ahmedabad. GOSF will run till December 12.
