Hyderabad: It is party time in Andhra Pradesh. While the popular film actor Pawan Kalyan is set to launch a political outfit ‘Jana Sena’ in a couple of days, former CMKiran Kumar Reddy has launched Jai Samaikyandhra party on the banks of Godavari in Rajahmundry. Kiran is pitching for Telugu self-respect, while Pawan banks on social justice.

The 42-year-old actor announced that he would unveil his plans formally on Friday at a press conference, hoping his first-day first-show will be a super hit. Pawan registered the name of the party with the Election Commission of India on Monday.

According to sources, a long discussion on the name of the party had taken place before deciding on Jana Sena. Pawan wanted to name his party as Yuva Rajyam. The other name that was discussed was Jai Hind party. But finally it was felt that Jana Sena was the best name. His advisors felt that Yuva Rajyam might send wrong signals as his brother Chiranjeevi launched Prajarajyam Party and later merged it with Congress. Pawan would officially announce his foray into the active politics at a conference at Hi-Tec City in the city on March 14.

Pawan has a huge fan following in the State, and unlike Kiran, he wants to field his candidates in both Telangana and Seemandhra. Though he has huge star following and can attract huge crowds, it remains to be seen if he can change the political dynamics in the state.

Sources said that Pawan would announce the party agenda and his plan action of action in the ensuing 2014 general election at the conference. He would also announce the party executive in the meeting. He is planning to fight the election on the plank of ‘social justice’. He would kick-start election campaign immediately after launching party from Seemandhra depending on the political situation in the state.

With these two new parties making political entry, the Seemandhra region will be witnessing a multi-cornered contest. TDP and YSRCP will the two main players. It remains to be seen how much Kiran and Pawan will be able to cut into the vote bank of these two parties.
