Kochadaiiyaan gets respite from entertainment tax

Chennai: The exhibitors of Tamil film Kochadaiiyaan, starring superstar Rajinikanth, have been received orders from the Madras high court not to collect any tax. The exemption has been granted by the state government, previously. A division bench comprising Justices M. M. Sundresh and R. Mahadevan passed orders on a PIL from advocate S. Muthiah. The said that the exemption of tax granted by the state government stands valid as of today.

Exemption has been therefore granted towards the payment of entertainment tax, by way of the order censured. In view of this, the exhibitors cannot insist and amass the said amount from the audience of the movie.
