NagarjunaHaving made a conscious decision not to steal the thunder from his son till now, superstar Nagarjuna has finally taken time to promote ‘Oka Laila Kosam’ on Thursday, a day before the film opens in theatres. The actor is hopeful that the film will be another feather in the cap for Annapurna Studios that already has two back to back hits – ‘Uyyala Jampala’ and ‘Manam’ – of late. Stating that family dramas have always worked for him, he said, “Feel good family entertainers paid rich dividends to the Akkineni family. Dad was a pioneer when it comes to producing such films and even I had my share of family entertainers being embraced by people. Guess the genre works for us.”

About ‘Oka Laila Kosam’, he said, “The lead characters - Chaitanya and Pooja Hegde- will leave an enduring impact on the audience. Ali too has a good role and will be seen throughout the film. I generally watch films as an audience and I feel that climax is a major asset. The film which goes on an entertaining mode till then changes course as it nears the climax.”

Stating that remixing ANR’s even green number Oka Laila Kosam from ‘Ramudu Kaadu Krishnudu’ was director Vijay Kumar’s idea, he said, “I love the song and the way that dad grooved to it. It was a rage during our time. Anoop Rubens was reluctant to remix it and I understood as he is someone who is very creative. But glad that he finally came up with the remix.”

Speaking about actress Pooja Hegde, he said, “She will go places in the days to come. I remember unit members saying that she is professional, humble and hard-working.”

About son Chaitanya’s sudden shift to love stories, he said, “Till ‘Shiva’ I didn’t have a mass image. I attained more of a romantic image as my successful films ‘Majnu’ and ‘Geethanjali ‘released before ‘Shiva’. I believe that if you attain romantic image to begin with, it will be easy for you to attain action image later.”
