Power director to direct Powerstar

The cat is out of the bag finally. Pawan Kalyan has handed over the task of directing ‘Gabbar Singh 2’ to director KS Ravindra aka Bobby. The writer-turned-director has proved his mettle with his very first film ‘Power’, starring Ravi Teja in the lead role. Though the film was not a runaway hit, it did manage to rake in some good moolah at the box-office. Bobby is the also the script writer of successful films like ‘Balupu’ and ‘Alludu Seenu’.

Says a source close to the development, “After Sampath Nandi’s alleged fallout with Pawan over the script and considerable delay of second installment of the cop story, Pawan thought of taking the mantle on himself, but owing to his busy life, he has handed over the reins to Bobby. It was Pawan’s friend Kona Venkat who proposed the name of Bobby. Impressed by his CV and taking into account Kona’s confidence on Bobby, Pawan gave the rookie a go ahead.”

The source adds further, “It’s likely that Bobby will be re-working on the script. He would be seeking the help of his guru Kona Venkat on the same.” The project will go on to floors once Pawan is done with ‘Gopala Gopala’. The actor’s friend Sharrath Marar will produce it on North Star Entertainments.
