More than a year after his last venture, director Harish Shankar has finally announced his next. Titled ‘Subrahmanyam For Sale’, it will star Sai Dharam Tej and Regina in the lead roles. Dil Raju, who produced the director’s ‘Ramayya Vastavayya’, will produce this venture too. His nephew Harshith will oversee the production.

Still from 'Subrahmanyam For Sale'

Speaking at the press brief announcing about the film, Harish said that he was in constant touch with Sai, who he met at Pawan Kalyan’s house during ‘Gabbar Singh’ times, for the past two-and-half years. “He came to Kalyan garu’s house to seek blessings on his birthday. I had an interaction with him for 15 minutes over there and thereafter we stayed in regular touch. When I watched the trailers of ‘Rey’ and ‘Pilla Nuvvu Leni Jeevitham’ I felt he fitted my Subrahmanyam,” he said.

A love story it will be high on entertainment, he added. “It will be a character based movie interspersed with family emotions.”

Admitting that they went wrong with ‘Ramayya Vastavayya’ at certain places, Raju said they took every measure not to repeat the same errors again with this new project. He added that ‘Subrahmanaym For Sale’ will be for Sai what ‘Arya’ turned out to be for Allu Arjun.

To flag off from November 27 in Hyderabad, a major chunk of the film will be shot in US next year. Raju is in plans to release the flick in May. Mickey J Meyer has already started composing tunes for the project.
