Hyderabad: It is the season of high-profile celebrity associations for Indian sports and the same goes for the ensuing Champions Tennis League (CTL) India. Even as Bollywood stars have joined forces for cricket, kabaddi and ISL, among others, the latest to join the bandwagon are Tollywood actors Rana Daggubati and Kajal Agarwal, who both are charting the tennis route.
CTL, which got a springboard here after Hyderabad Aces joined the League by default, received a shot in the arm when the two actors were named as its brand ambassadors on Wednesday. The local outfit, which hosts the inaugural matches of the league on November 17 and 18, can depend upon the star power of Rana and Kajal, whose presence can bring in additional crowds to Lal Bahadur Tennis Complex on the two days. Incidentally, the team has Martina Hingis, Mark Philippoussis and Mikhail Youzhny in its ranks.
