VenkateshHyderabad: He may be a righteous family man with a good sense of humour and equal amount of anger on screen, but for civic authorities, he is just another citizen who has to go by the rule book. Tollywood actor Daggubati Venkatesh might have gone scot-free after thrashing the baddies black and blue on silver screen many a times, but he is at the receiving end after he resorted to construct a building on Road No 1 of Film Nagar in Hyderabad without taking permission from the municipal administration.

The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Tuesday issued notices to Venkatesh for flouting building rules. According to sources, the GHMC officials issued notices to Venkatesh following reports that he had not taken permission to construct the building. The actor is asked to respond within 10 days.

Sources said the construction of the building commenced a couple of days ago. However, the representatives of the actor claimed that they were constructing a shed and did not take up any construction work. The actor, who used to stay at his Film Nagar residence, shifted to Manikonda a couple of years ago to a new residence. He, however, wanted to develop the old property for putting it into use, sources said.

Responding to the GHMC’s notice, a spokesperson from Venkatesh’s office said the property No 8-2-293/82/F/A/3 situated at Film Nagar, Phase I, Jubilee Hills, was leased out to Munna United Hospitality Services, represented by its director, P Pramod Kumar from September 2014.

“The notice was served on November 18 and the tenants were given 10 days time to apply for the necessary permissions for the alterations made on the premises,” the spokesperson added.
