Like her co-star Vikram, Amy Jackson also spent two-and-a-half years on Shankar’s ‘I,’ which opened in cinemas last Wednesday. She says she has no complaints about it. “When you get an opportunity to work with people like Shankar, PC Sreeram, Vikram and AR Rahman, why lose it? It would have been a no brainer had I said no, right? The film is a game changer for me,” says Amy.

Dubbing Shankar as a genius, the model-turned-actress says: “To collaborate with a director like him early in my career is fantastic. He moulded me and helped me grow as an actor. I feel this is my best work till date because of the role which gave me the opportunity to try drama, action and romance.”

Amy is also all praise for the film’s cinematographer PC Sreeram. “He is a magician and every actor would love to be shot by him. I remember him giving me a great compliment. He said I’m one of the most beautiful women he has worked with. Such words coming from the man, who has worked with Aishwarya (Rai), who I look up to, was flattering,” recalls Amy, who shot in China for the film.

“We shot there for 50 days without any break. When we were not working, we were travelling from one part of the country to another, braving extreme weather conditions. It was also difficult since we didn’t know the language. Nonetheless, the scenic beauty made it all worth it and the title song is a proof of that.”

The petite actress, who featured in Ram Charan’s ‘Yevadu’, is game for more Tollywood films. “I’m listening to scripts in Telugu but haven’t signed anything yet. As of now I’m doing a couple of Tamil films,” she says.
