The MAA elections had become controversial and divided the film industry. Only 394 artists of the 704 members had appeared on the voting day.
There was jubilation in the Rajendra Prasad camp at the MAA premises after the outcome was declared. The results were withheld for over 15 days in view of the petition in local courts against the polling process and other allegations against the outgoing team of MAA led by Rajahmundry TDP MP Murali Mohan.
"We are all one big family now and our competitive spirit was only limited to the polling and electioneering," said Murali Mohan who had emerged as a pillar of Telugu industry in the recent times.
