Actor-producer Nandamuri Kalyan Ram will be producing his superstar babai Nandamuri Balakrishna’s landmark 100th project under NTR Arts. As expected, Boyapati Sreenu, who has delivered two hits with Balayya – ‘Simha’ and ‘Legend’ – and in many ways has resurrected the actor’s career, will helm the project. It will go on floors once the actor wraps up his 99th (tentatively titled Dictator), which will commence shortly, with director Sriwass.

A source confirms, “Though some top production houses which collaborated with the actor earlier expressed their interest to produce his prestigious flick, the actor felt it would be a fitting tribute to his father if his 100th film is made on the production house that is named after him. Moreover in view of the fact that nephew Kalyan Ram has been waiting to a produce a film with him, and understanding his passion for cinema, Balayya handed over the responsibility to him.”

The source adds that it will be an action entertainer with a political touch to it. “The story thread has been finalised sometime ago itself. It has scope for three actresses alongside the actor. The makers are keen on roping in an eminent Bollywood face to play one of the three leading ladies,” the source states, adding, “The pre-production activities have already kick-started and Kalyan Ram is monitoring every aspect related to it. The film will be made on a budget of Rs 40 crore.”

The source further adds that Balayya, an MLA from Hindupur, is likely to take on call on whether to carry on in films or not after completing the 100th. “He is keen on giving more time to his constituency once the landmark film is done with. By the time he finishes shooting it, his 20-year-old son Mokshagna, who is pursuing a management course in New York, USA, will also be set for his T-town innings. He will make up his mind whether to continue in films or be actively involved with politics some time mid next year.”
