Venky’s next with Sri Ranjith Movies?

As soon as Superstar Venkatesh announced on Wednesday that he will speak about his next assignments in July, speculations were rife that one of the projects might be made on Suresh Productions with Ravi Babu wielding the megaphone.

Even Tamil filmmaker RT Neason’s name made the rounds. While we don’t know how much truth lies behind these reports, it is reliably learnt that one of his projects would be with KL Damodar Prasad, who produced ‘Ala Modalaindi’ and ‘Anthaku Mundu Aa Taruvatha’.

A source close to the development says, “The deal was sealed very recently. The production house – Sri Ranjith Movies – has made clean family entertainers till now and it is the reason why Venky has given his consent to them. Moreover, he knows Damodar Prasad aka Damu very well.”

The source adds that filmmaker Teja, who is currently making ‘Hora Hori’ for Ranjith Movies, is likely to direct the film. “The director was supposed to make a film with Venky five years ago but the project failed to materialise,” says the source. “Chances of the director bagging Venky’s flick are very high. However, the actor will take a final call on who will helm the flick.”
