Kangana to star in Rani Lakshmi Bai biopic

Kangana Ranaut, who is on a roll with multiple hits on the trot, is all set to essay the role of warrior Rani Lakshmi Bai. Ketan Mehta will be directing this flick. The actress apparently agreed to do the film as she was mighty impressed with the script and the kind of research that has gone into it. An Indo-British production, it will be made on a grand scale.

Talks are on with Hugh Grant to play the role of General Hugh Rose (he was commanding the Central Indian Field Force and he crushed the Indian rebels at Jhansi in 1858). He also spoke greatly of Rani Lakshmi Bai’s bravery during the rebellion! Known to play her role to the tee, Kangana will be undergoing rigorous training in horse-riding and sword-fighting to perfect the nuances of her character. The film will go on to sets next year.
