The Tollywood audience was shocked to hear the news that Nagaiah who played grandfather in "Vedam" movie is begging on the streets of Hyderabad because of dearth of offers. He is not even in a state to buy food.

None from the film industry has reached out to help him. But the Telangana IT Minister came forward and stood by Nagaiah.

“Met ‘Siricilla Ramulu’ aka Nagaiah Garu today. Handed over Rs.1 lakh as assistance from my side. Also arranged for old age artiste pension through Govt. Spoke to Rajendra Prasad, president of MAA to also assist. Nagaiah incidentally is native of Guntur,” KTR said on his Twitter handle.

Praising KTR for his help, actor Manchu Lakshmi tweeted "Hats off ram. I am so happy with all the work you are doing. Been following your work religiously. This gesture took my breath away."
