Seerat Kapoor insists that there were no catfights as such on the sets of ‘Columbus’ in which Mishti Chakraborthy too is a central figure. “There is this notion that two actresses cannot go along well but we broke that,” she quips, adding, “If you are secure of who you are and know your strengths, you can get along with anyone. She was comfortable with her skin and I was, with mine. We had a lot of fun doing our sequences together. In fact, post work too we kept in touch.”

Seerat shares that she identified with her character Neeru in the “unusual romantic entertainer”. “It has lot of depth. She is confident, outspoken, career-oriented and values relationships.”

Despite not knowing the language, Seerat makes it a point to reel the dialogues on her own. “From my first film, I’ve never lip synced to my lines; I’ve always learnt them. I have a Telugu book and English translation book. Once I understand the expression of the sequence I memorise the dialogue,” she states. “I understand Telugu better now. May be after featuring in a couple of more movies, I can converse fluently.”

All praise for her director R Samala, she says, “He is very composed with the way he handles his actors. He motivates when are you not in sync with the character or establishes reasons why you are not there. His attention to detail is amazing.”

Into her second year in showbiz, Seerat says the industry has been very kind to her. “I’m not the typical pretty looking girl. There are many things which can go against me. For instance my hairdo--which some people like--but it’s not the usual look. The same thing, if seen from someone else’s perspective, can be a disadvantage but I’m fortunate that the industry and people have appreciated my work.”
For someone who made her debut with a hit film (‘Run Raja Run’), she is “not in a hurry” to sign more projects. “I want to associate with good scripts as I believe in quality. I would want to climb the success ladder with every film that I do and so I’m taking it slow.”
