Swara Bhaskar who has impressed the audience with her performances in Raanjhanaa, Listen Amaya is back with a pivotal role in Salman Khan\'s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

Okay guys.. before you jump to conclusions, by sister we don't mean Salman's real sister..here we are referring to his reel sister whose performance is being talked about in filmnagar circles. Yes, meet Swara Bhaskar who plays Rajkumari Chandrika who Sallu lovingly calls Chanda in the just released Diwali blockbuster Prem Ratan Dhan Payo.

Swara Bhaskar who impressed the audiences with her performances in Raanjhanaa and Aurangzeb is back with a pivotal role in Salman Khan's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo. In an exclusive interview with Deepthi Reddy, the actress talks about her experience working with Salman Khan, starring in a Sooraj Barjatya movie and her upcoming movies.

Journey from Guzaarish to Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

It's been quite fulfilling and I have been very lucky to have worked with good people, having gotten this far. From getting small parts to getting big parts and now I have a movie like Prem Ratan Dhan Payo with an actor like Salman Khan. On the other hand, I have a movie like Nil Bate Sannata which is another release where I play a titular character and the whole movie revolves around my character. I have been obviously lucky, but there's still a long way to go.

Role in Sooraj Barjatya's Prem Ratan Dhan Payo

"It's a family drama and I have a central part where I play Salman Khan's younger sister and the main conflict situation is centered around my track. It's very good role and performance oriented with a multi-layered character. I feel lucky to have worked with people like Sooraj Barjatya and Salman Khan."

Experience working with Salman Khan:

Salman Khan is amazing and is a huge star. All the stories that say that Salman Khan is generous and has got a big heart and that's all true as I got to witness the generous side of him during the movie. He brings a very jovial, positive, fun vibe to the sets. He is really a great co-star as you never get bored when he's on the sets. As an actor he is someone interesting to watch as he is constantly improvising and never scared. As a star of his stature, Salman still tries to add something new and I would like to imbibe that quality from him.

Favourite actress you have worked with:

Sonam Kapoor... as she is really fun to work with. She is very chilled out and has no competitiveness nor is insecure as a person which are typically expected from actresses. It was really nice to work with someone like that. I earlier worked with Sonam in Ranjhanna and now in Prem Ratan Dhan Payo, I really enjoyed working with her.

Do you look upto any actress and wanted to follow their path?

I admire Rani Mukherjee and the kind of career she had. Also, Priyanka Chopra, Meryl Steep and Julia Roberts.

If not an actress, what would you be?

I would be a teacher or be working as an activist at an NGO. Even as a teacher, I probably would be acting in my head and acting to be a teacher. I am an actor at heart, I always will be an actor.

You have Telugu links, would you do a Tollywood movie if offered?

Yeah sure. It's a dream of my grandma to see me in a Telugu movie so I always thought if I ever do a Telugu movie, I would do it for her. I would love to do, but the right script should come up. I had the opportunity to work with a brilliant Tamil director Nalan Kumarasamy in the movie X which is to release on November 25.
X has eleven directors directing eleven chapters of one story and my chapter is directed by Nalan Kumarasamy. So I had a little taste of South India and it has been amazing.

Who is your favourite actor down south?
Ajith

What brought you to Rajashri Productions?
I think it was fate. Actually no actor was willing to play Salman Khan's sister as everyone was really scared as once you play his sister, you can't play his girlfriend, so it was that and I didn't know anyone from the team but Salman's sister Alvira Agnihotri had put in a good word for me. So it was her recommendation that brought me to Rajashri Productions.

What next after Prem Ratan Dhan Payo?

I have X with Tamil director Nalan Kumarasamy which I am very excited about and a Bollywood movie Nil Bate Sannata that is slated to release in January or February 2016 which is another beautiful story directed by Ashwini Iyer Tiwari.

Would you do an item number if offered?

Yeah I would. It depends on the song but I would happily do it.
