The government had offered Bollywood actor Rishi Kapoor the chairmanship of Central Board of Film Certification, but he declined it because he felt it was a 'thankless job'.

"It's true (that I was offered the job). I think it's a thankless job, and I don't have the patience to watch so many films," said Kapoor.

Asked about his opinion on the current rules and regulations of the CBFC for clearing films, Rishi Kapoor chose not to comment about the issue.

Pahlaj Nihalani, the current chairman of CBFC, has stoked controversy because of his list of banned words and ordering edits in films like ‘Spectre’, ‘NH10’ and ‘Badlapur’.
