Magical Dreams Productions Pvt Ltd, Panorama Studios, Anand Prakash and writer-producer Harry Sachdeva’s 31st October is the first mainstream film based on the aftermath of Indira Gandhi’s assassination and its repercussions.

The trailer is every bit a peep into the edge-of-the-seat thriller starring Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das in lead roles. Owing to the sensitivity of the subject of 1984 anti-Sikh riots, the film caters to a huge audience across the globe.

The trailer of the poignant thriller was launched at a suburban multiplex amidst a packed house by the movie’s cast including Soha Ali Khan, Vir Das, writer-producer Harry Sachdeva, co-producer Anand Prakash and director Shivaji Lotan Patil.

The movie has been cleared by the Revising Committee of Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) after a four-month wait and nine major cuts. The film’s subject has been a major point of discussion globally since the last 31 years.

Talking about the film, says writer-producer Harry Sachdeva, “I’m very proud of 31st October and sincere thanks to the real heroes of my film, Vir Das and Soha Ali Khan for carrying the film on their shoulders. The film will not just take you to the era of ‘80s but you will certainly live through the moments also and take the story back home.”

Soha Ali Khan says, “Though I’ve played a wife before on screen, this is the first time I’ve played a mother of three. It was exciting to share the screen space with Vir Das. It’s a very special film for all of us. Congratulations to the entire team of 31st October.”

Adds co-producer Anand Prakash, “It’s a human interest story beautifully captured by Shivaji and produced by Harry. Today’s youth should certainly watch 31st October to know what happened on that day and what people went through.”

Says Vir Das, “31st October is a small story of a big, eventful day that shook the entire country. It’s an inspiring story of a family – husband wife and their three children and how they try to escape from the tragic circumstances they caught in.”

Produced by Magical Dreams Productions Pvt Ltd, Panorama Studios, Anand Prakash and Harry Sachdeva and directed by Shivaji Lotan Patil, 31st October featuring Soha Ali Khan and Vir Das is scheduled to release October 7, 2016.
