Hyderabad: ‘Baahubali: The Conclusion’, one of the most anticipated films, will open in cinemas globally on April 28, 2017.

Announcing this for the first time at a press meet here on Friday, one of the producers of the showpiece, Shobu Yarlagadda, said the second part’s key portions, including the climax war episode, has been filmed and the entire shoot will be wrapped up by December, giving them a good four months for full-fledged promotions.

“Some scenes and a couple of songs are pending. We will finish them by December. The trailer will be unveiled in January,” Shobu said. He was accompanied by the film’s director SS Rajamouli, actors Prabhas, Rana and partner Prasad Devineni.

But before the trailer, fans of ‘Baahubali’ have something exciting to look forward to on Saturday as Rajamouli announced that ‘Baahubali’ cartoon series would be unveiled on Saturday on Amazon Prime. “The first look of the film will be unveiled on October 22, a day before Prabhas’ birthday. A comic book and a video too will be released on the same date,” the top director noted.

Rajamouli further revealed that ‘Baahubali 2’ would be released in theatres along VR (Virtual Reality) versions which would be unveiled separately as ‘Virtual Reality’ movies require devices like Google Cardboard. “About 200-300 theatres will be equipped with VR stalls for the purpose.

It will cost Rs 25 crore and is a first of kind attempt in the world,” he exulted. He said that on October 5, they would announce news that “came to them out of nowhere”. “We are keeping it as a secret because we want the fans of ‘Baahubali’ to go through what we have been through,” he said, refusing to divulge details.
