I couldn’t dare to play NTR, says Jr NTR

Superstar Jr NTR claimed that he doesn’t have confidence to reprise the role of his grandfather and iconic actor NTR onscreen. “I was asked to play the role of my grandfather by producers, but I couldn’t dare to do it,” said the actor, at the audio release function of much-awaited ‘Mahanati’.

“Savitri was lady superstar and all of us don’t have the stature to talk about the legendary actress. This film will be a realistic depiction of her illustrious life,” he added.

In his speech, Nagarjuna said “You need to have guts and commitment to make a biopic and this film is first biopic in Telugu. NTR, ANR and Savitri were etched in the annals of Telugu filmm history. I was introduced to the industry as a kid by Savitri in ‘Velugu Needalu’.

I am proud about this film for more ways than one. A film on a legendary actress is a game-changer for Telugu cinema,” he added. Vijay Devarakonda, Samantha, Keerthy Suresh, KRR and Nag Ashwin also spoke at the star-studded event.
