Producer C Kalyan who was made a member of the 20-member Cine- Workers Welfare Fund Committee (CWFFC) constituted under the aegis of the Central government on July 31. This committee will work under the Union Ministry of Labour and Employment.
Valluru Jayaprakash Narayan, hailing from Andhra Pradesh, was appointed the chairman of the committee which is setup every three years. The other members are from different States representing various sections of the society. Speaking to the media in Hyderabad on Wednesday, C Kalyan said that he was extremely delighted to be appointed as member of the committee and thanked the Union government for selecting him.
He said that he would work hard with dedication and commitment and ensure that the workers of the Telugu film industry in the two Telugu States get justice. It’s a matter of great pride that a Telugu person was made member of the committee, he added. Kalyan said that their films ‘Jhansi’ will be released on Friday and ‘Lakshmi’ would be released on August 24 and hoped that the films would do well at the box office.
