I always want to be enterprising says Saie Tamhankar

Actress Saie Tamhankar, who is gearing up for the release of her forthcoming digital show ‘Date With Saie’, has said that she always want to be enterprising as an actress to do whatever work comes her way.

Saie Tamhankar was interacting with media at the promotional press conference of ‘Date With Saie’ along with its producer Nikhil Sheth and director Dnyanesh Zoting on Tuesday in Mumbai.

Saie Tamhankar has earlier worked in Marathi theater and daily soaps. Now she is a known face in Hindi films and web series.

When asked Saie what will be new offering from her side to the audience, she said, “Now, I am trying my hand in Stand-up comedy. There are lots of things which I still need to do, it is just a beginning. Now the times are such that if you don’t do new things or you don’t upgrade yourself so, it’s going to be tough for you to survive so, I always want to be enterprising so, whatever comes my way, I will try to do that.”

‘Date With Saie’ is actually the story of an obsessed filmmaker who stalks Saie and shoots a film featuring her, secretly. Why is he doing so? For that, you have to watch the show.

Talking about her new show, Saie said, “It’s an interesting genre. It was really good experience for me. I think to play your own character onscreen, you need different kind of confidence and guts which came within me because of Dnyanesh (director). A show which has my name on it is sort of a big deal for an actor so, I am very excited for it.”

When asked saie how difficult it was for her to play her own character in the web series, she said, “This is not exactly based on my story or my experience but whatever you will see in the web series , the kind of Saie Tamhankar makers have shown in show is exactly like me and there is no play or drama involved in it. When you play your own character then there are no secrets left between you and your audience so, I think it’s a wonderful thing and it’s another way to connect with fans so, I hope they like it.”

Storyline of Shah Rukh Khan starrer ‘Fan’ and ‘Date With Saie’ looks similar where a man constantly stalks them but in the climax of ‘Fan’, it has been shown that stalker is dead. When asked Saie whether there are similarities between ‘Fan’ and her show, she said, “I really love my fans and I think they complete me. The kind of platform I have reached today, I think they all are responsible for it so, I don’t think my fans will get upset with the show because our story is different from ‘Fan’. I also feel that there is thin line which your admirers tend to cross sometimes so, it’s a reminder that ‘live and let live’ because every individual has a personal space which should be respected by all.”

Apart from Saie, audience will also be able to see Saie's friends as well as popular talent from the Marathi industry like Amey Wagh, Siddharth Chandekar, Lalit Prabhakar, Parna Pethe, Shreya Bugade, Girija Oak Godbole and Pooja Thombre who play themselves and are a part of a crucial episode.
