Arjun Kapoor is prepping for his role in Panipat and how! The actor recently took some horse riding lessons for his period role in the film and now he is getting back into shape by going through a rigorous workout.
Actor Arjun Kapoor just took to his social media profile and shared a few candid pictures from his workout session. He captioned it, “Let’s do this, one session at a time... feel the burn feel the pain feel the heart racing... #shivohamofficial #wod #functionaltraining #panipat”
The actor will be seen portraying the role of Sadashiv Rao Bhau in the film, who was the son of Chimaji Appa and Rakhmabai and the nephew of Peshwa Bajirao I. He served as the Sardar Senapati (Commander-in-Chief) of the Maratha army at the third battle of Panipat. The actor is taking functional training to maneuver on battlefield and close combat, which are part of battle sequences in the film.
The film is being directed by Oscar-nominated and National Award winning director Ashutosh Gowariker. The film revolves around the third battle of Panipat, which was fought between Marathas and Ahmad Shah Abdali’s army in 1761.
The battle was fought between the northern expeditionary force of the Maratha Empire and invading forces of the King of Afghanistan, Ahmad Shah Abdali, supported by two Indian allies—the Rohilla Afghans of the Doab, and Shuja-ud-Daula, the Nawab of Awadh.
The action-packed period drama is produced by Sunita Gowariker and Rohit Shelatkar’s company – Vision World.
The film also stars Sanjay Dutt and Kriti Sanon in the lead roles. The film is poised to release on December 6, 2019.
