Actress Zarine Khan says society makes plus size people feel bad and inferior about themselves on the sidelines of fashion show here in Mumbai.

The actress was interacting with the media at Parfait lingerie plus size fashion show in Mumbai.

Talking about “plus-size” people and her reasons for endorsing the brand, Zarine said, “I have been plus size in my school and college days. And it is really important to wear proper lingerie while growing up, for girls, but I didn’t have much options as compared to thinner girls or not so plus size girls had and it really felt bad because I don’t know why the plus size people are always the odd one out and no focus is given on them, whether clothes and lingerie”

Further adding, the actress said, “Why do people look at plus size people with such strange eye, after all, he/she is a human being, and a good human being and not causing anyone any harm. I think society makes plus size people feel inferior and bad about themselves”

“I was feeling great watching these girls walk the ramp because I don’t think I had this kind of confidence when I was a teenager. So hats off to their confidence, more power to them”

Zarine Khan also added that one should take of fitness because of pressure, it is lifestyle choice.

When asked about pressure in the industry to stay fit, Zareen said, “I don’t know about the industry pressure, but I try to be fit. I like fitness because now it’s part of my lifestyle. I was a plus size when I was a teenager, and then I realize I come from a background where females in my periphery had ailments because they were not fit, so I don’t think one should be fit because there is pressure from industry”

Zarine Khan is noted for her in movies such as Veer, Ready, Housefull 2 and Hate Story 3. Currently, she is working in Daaka opposite Gippy Grewal.
