Hyderabad lad attributes Civils success to passion for serving the society

Hyderabad: Chirumamilla Vinay Kumar Chowdary from the city who had qualified in the civil services examination credits his success to the lessons of life he had learned when his mother worked as an Anganwadi teacher.

Speaking to The Hans India, he said his main source of inspiration to appear for IAS came from his mother who taught him to be responsible towards society and contribute his part for its welfare. An alumni of the University College of Engineering (UCE) of Osmania University, Vinay Kumar got 464 rank in general category in the civil services examination 2016.

Vinay Kumar had joined a private company after completion of his engineering . However, it was his passion to serve the society that motivated him to pursue higher goals. According to Vinay Kumar, 25 years of his mother’s service as Anganwadi teacher had left an imprint on his mind to do something for the society.

His father is a supervisor in a movie theater in Saroornagar. But, the inspiration from his the parents got further boost with his sister Pujitha, working as a software engineer in USA, supporting him and encouraging his passion to purse the civil services.

He said that the historic portals of his alma mater Osmania University and the guidance given at the career guidance cell, motivational interaction of the IAS, IPS alumni from the campus with the aspiring civil servants like him motivated him further to achieve his objective.

Giving reasons for choosing sociology as his optional in the civil services examination, he said, “Sociology gives different and even multiple perspectives of the issues in the society. This would help him in coming to a reasonable opinion or arriving at viewpoint after considering all of them,” Vinay Kumar said.

He further added that even when writing an essay during the mains it helps in presenting your opinion on a given topic. It was for the first time that I made an attempt and got 464 rank but I am considering giving the exam again to improve my ranking, he said.

On preparation front, he said that that he had taken coaching initially for civil services examination at Delhi and guidance for interview from the TS State Study Circle, under Venkata Mohan. “The guidance from the study circle helped me a lot during the interview phase,” he said.
