New Delhi (PTI): A special investigation team of Goa police on Saturrday questioned Tehelka Managing Editor Shoma Chaudhury and some other employees and recorded their statements in connection with the charge against its editor Tarun Tejpal of raping a woman colleague.
Meanwhile, in her written complaint, the victim said she had known Tejpal since childhood and described him as a ‘father figure.’ The woman, whose name has not been disclosed, is identified as the daughter of a Bihari father and Telugu mother. She said the alleged assault took place inside a lift at a hotel in Goa, where the magazine held Think Fest conference last month, which was billed as India's premier intellectual event. The woman also alleged that when she protested, Tejpal told her “this was the easiest way for you to keep your job.”
