Hyderabad: The North Zone police on Monday arrested two persons who are involved in bag lifting cases and recovered Rs 73, 000 cash, three cell phones, SIM cards and fake ID cards from their possession.

The accused, Mithun Gwala alias Pujan Singh and Manoj Gwala alias Manoj Yadav hailing from Jalpaiguri of West Bengal, who had committed more than 100 offences in West Bengal, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Bihar and Delhi were apprehended on Monday in a lodge near Secunderabad Railway Station.
“The offenders travel as a team of four members in trains by carrying a motorcycle with them in luggage van. They stay in lodges posing as businessmen. They target banks and look out for victims carrying cash out of the banks and follow them and after snatching the booty flee in the bike. After committing the offence, they park the vehicle at the parking lot and keep the parking slip, a duplicate key and some cash under the seat of vehicle in case any of the members are apprehended the remaining would pick up the vehicle and flee away,” said R Jaya Lakshmi, DCP North Zone.
