Hyderabad: The north zone police team on Saturday arrested five persons in connection with the kidnap of 18 months old girl, Jyothi, from Regimental Bazar, under Gopalpuram police station limits, on December 28.
The police nabbed Madavi Somu alias Satish, 32, Kanguri Pallavi, 20, Kamasani Shankar, 48, Kamasani Divya, 25 and Kamasani Neela, 30, under the guidance of DCP (north) R Jayalakshmi.
Based on a complaint lodged by the girl’s mother, K Lakshmi, the cops took up investigation and busted a prostitution racket.
The accused persons were caught from Medak district on Saturday after teams of police tracked their mobile phones. The girl was rescued and handed over to the family members. The accused were remanded to judicial custody by the court.
