A woman suffered minor burns after an unknown person attacked her with acid in Laxmi Nagar, east Delhi.

The incident was reported on Friday from the Mangal Bazar area where the 26-year-old woman lives with her husband and in-laws. She is married to a businessman from Faridabad, police said.
The woman said around 9.30pm, someone rang the doorbell. When she opened the door, a man threw something at her and fled. She claimed that she had shut the door instantly due to which the liquid only fell on her hand and feet.
The family members informed the police immediately who rushed to the spot and admitted the woman to a local hospital. The woman suffered less than 1% burns, doctors said.
A case has been registered against unknown persons. Police have also summoned her husband and family members for questioning. They said the antecedents of the woman are being verified to find out the reason for the attack. Police said they are suspecting a personal rivalry behind the attack.
Locals in the area are also being questioned to establish the identity of the attacker. The police are looking for CCTV footage that could be available in the area.
