Nizamabad: The body of Narendar Reddy, who allegedly burnt three granddaughters of former MPP and Congress leader Raghupati Reddy of Danapalli village on Thursday, was found by the police in the river Godavari at Basar on Friday.

Police suspect that he had committed suicide. They sent the body to a hospital for post-mortem. Police said a full-fledged inquiry would be conducted into the heinous triple murder case.

Reddy, who is related to the victims, had set fire to the little girls, Siri, Akshaya and Kushi, after abducting them by offering chocolates and sweets on Wednesday night. Their burnt bodies were found on the outskirts of the town on Thursday morning. Police suspect that Reddy had resorted to the ghastly murder for suffering a loss in his business and failing to get married.

The car in which Reddy took the girls to the spot was found parked near the Godavari. Police had suspected on Thursday itself that he had resorted to suicide; but they could not locate the body. A person telephoned police when he saw a man matching Reddy’s description, sitting on the Godavari bridge railing.

Meanwhile, the last rites of the girls were conducted in the village in Renjal mandal. The entire village wore a pall of gloom.
