Crime snippets of Andhra Pradesh

Hyderabad: Early on Tuesday, the police have carried out a snap check at Sarangapur check post in Nizamabad district. During these checks, the workforce has found Rs 4L that has been allegedly hidden inside the car. The money has been seized by the police.

In a similar incident, on going with the surprise checks being carried out in view of the impending elections, the police have seized Rs 14.5L that has been illegally acquired and transferred in car at Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad on early Tuesday.

In the third incident, early on Tuesday, the officials of Forest Department have seized Red Sandalwood logs that have been illegally transported. The worth of the seized Red Sandalwood almost amounts to Rs 10L, according to sources.

At Satyavedu mandal in Chittore district, on Tuesday, the officials of the forest department have carried out a snap check. During these checks they have seized Red Sandalwood logs.

It is worth mentioning here that Red Sandalwood smuggling has been at its peak for quite sometime in the state.
