Kurnool: Woman gangraped at Nandyal

Hyderabad: Few unknown reprobates sexually molested a woman near Shanthiram College at Nandyal in Kurnool district. Later, the accused men ran away from the spot. The victim approached the locals who in turn filed a complaint with the police.

The police inquired the victim of the details and sent her to the government hospital for medical checkups. A case has been registered by the police and have been nabbing for the accused. The victim has disclosed her name as Usha Rani and hails originally from Khammam district, said the police sources.

Even after the implementation of strict acts like Nirbhaya, the crime against women is not going down. It’s not the enforcement acts that should play the role rather it’s the change that is needed in the mentalities of the people. So it’s a matter of intrinsic concern and nothing to do with the extrinsic forces.
