Hyderabad: Attention diversion gang struck yet again near Satyam Theatre at Ameerpet on Wednesday morning and decamped with Rs 7 lakh.
The incident took place when an employee of a private company named Satyaram was on his way to the office after withdrawing money from HDFC Bank. In his complaint to the SR Nagar police, he stated that two unidentified persons snatched the bag containing the cash by diverting his attention.
He came out of the HDFC Bank after he had withdrawn Rs 7 lakh and was on his way to office when a passer-by asked him to check if the currency notes lying on the ground belonged to him. He saw several 10-rupee notes strewn on the road. When he bent down to gather the notes, another person snatched the bag and fled, SR Nagar inspector (crime) N Shankar said.
