Hyderabad: The death of a 13-year-old boy on Tuesday, who was undergoing treatment, sparked tension at Indo-US Hospital in Ameerpet on Wednesday morning.

Family members of the deceased Satyanarayana and locals staged a protest outside the hospital alleging that negligence of doctors led to the boy’s death. However, the hospital refuted the allegations and said that the test results did not reveal any signs of infection.


The situation turned tense as the protesters barged into the hospital and allegedly manhandled a few medical staff claiming that doctors’ negligence had caused the death of the boy.


Police rushed to the spot, pacified the angry mob and brought the situation under control. They later registered a case of death due to negligence based on a complaint filed by family members.


The boy, according to parents, was admitted to hospital on August 18 for treatment of his fractured hand and got discharged on August 23. However, on August 25, he returned to the hospital with swollen legs. The parents alleged that doctors carried out tests, but could not diagnose and discharged him. Following which his skin turned black and he breathed his last on Tuesday.
